One Planet Action Plans

If you’re a small or medium sized organisation like a business, charity or college looking to ‘go green’ without the greenwash, then you need a One Planet Action Plan.

Using the One Planet Living framework, your plan will help you to find cost-effective solutions to reduce your environmental impacts and demonstrate your commitment to sustainability.

Based on the tried and tested One Planet Living principles developed by BioRegional and WWF and used by organisations around the world, a One Planet Action Plan will help your organisation to:

• focus your efforts on ten areas developed by experts to cover all environmental, social and economic aspects of sustainability
• inspire your staff and stakeholders with a fresh, engaging process that is based on some of the world’s leading examples of sustainability
• aim for a standard set against challenging environmental targets.

You can use our free toolkit to create your own One Planet Action Plan. The toolkit contains everything you need to develop your own One Planet Action Plan, including:

• Introduction to One Planet Action Plans
• Workbook to follow when making your plan
• Workshop plan to use if you want to brainstorm ideas together
• Template action plan that you can complete for your organisation.

You can also use your One Planet Action Plan as part of an accredited Environmental Management System such as EMAS, Acorn, Green Dragon, ISO14001 or BS8555. Using the One Planet Living framework as the basis gives you an easy-to-grasp but high standard to work towards.
